2019 Summer Movie Season: Season Awards

Hey followers. Welcome to the official Summer Movie Season Awards Special. It was a crazy summer and there was a lot of excitement and thrills galore. As the Fall Movie season begins, let's give out some recognition for the films that made the biggest impact during the SMS.

Best Summer Movie Actor
Robert Downey Jr

The man who started it all created a legacy that will live on for years to come. Serving as his final outing as the billionaire, genius, playboy and philanthropist, Robert Downey Jr ended his turn as Tony Stark in one of the most satisfying and emotional sendoffs in the MCU. For all you've done for this incredible franchise, we love you 3000.

Best Summer Movie Actress 
Naomi Scott

Strength, beauty, wit, and an angelic voice are just many of the things required to play an iconic role like Princess Jasmine of Agrabah. Luckily, Naomi Scott possess all of that and more. In one of the best potrayals of a live action Disney Princess since Lily James in Cinderella, Scott raises the bar in a stellar performance that should thrust her into a whole new world of recognition and stardom.

Best Animated Movie
Toy Story 4

After a near perfect trilogy, it was hard to find justification as to why Pixar decided to return to the world of Woody and Buzz. But the returned proved just as sweet and emotional as it's predecessors delivering a hilarious and emotionally touching cinematic treat that show the continued magic of these characters and world.

Best Action Movie
Hobbs & Shaw

Summer is about mindless fun and nonstop action. Thankfully the first ever fast and furious spinoff brought all of that and then some in a summer romp that is every bit as bonkers and over the top as the universe it inhabits.

Best Sci-Fi Movie/Best Superhero Movie

Spider-Man Far From Home

After surviving the Endgame, Peter Parker went oversees for some European escapades. Brimming with action, heart, and of of the MCU's most jaw dropping reveals and twist, Spider-Man Far From Home is arguably one of the web slinger's best outings to date and hopefully not his last in the Marvel heroverse. 

Most Underrated Movie
Aladdin

For a movie to come in with so much pre-release negativity and come out as one of the summer's biggest surprise hits, Aladdin managed to excite audiences with its solid cast, respect for the classic, and a strong sense of joy. A magical collection of adventure, romance and heart make this one of Disney's better remakes and a real summer surprise.

And the film that gets the final and most honorable award is.....

Movie of The Summer

The culmination of 23 films set over 10 years was a sight to behold and resulted in one of the biggest and most emotionally powerful spectacles of 2019. So many heroes, so many moments, and so much to be grateful for in this celebration of the cinematic experience of a generation.
