Summer Movie Season 2016 (Month 1 Recap)
Hello Followers!!! Just like that, Month 1 has come and gone. A very quite yet solid opening month to say the least. Let's close out our first month with a recap of how all the films did over the course of May.
Captain America Civil War
The opening film of Marvel Phase 3 was more than people thought it would be. Aside from being an epic and action packed cinematic spectacle, the film also established itself as having an emotionally strong plot with surprisingly thought provoking themes. The film is considered one of Marvel Studios best entries into the MCU and has achieved the title of highest grossing film of 2016. A strong start for the next stage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Angry Birds
Based on the hit mobile video game, the Angry Birds movie brought charm, heart, and laughs in this colorful and entertaining family flick. An all star cast, beautiful animation, and fun nods to its game origins make this film a worthy looker for the summer.
X-Men Apocalypse
The latest installment of the Marvel comic book franchise brought together a massive collection of favorites including the young versions of mutants Storm, Jean Grey, and Scott Summers. With great performances but an uninspired plot, the might end up as one of the more polarizing installments in the long running superhero franchise.
Alice Through The Looking Glass
The sequel to the 2010 surprise hit was not met withe too much fanfare or critical backing. Harsh reviews and an abysmal box office return make this live action fantasy adventure one of the biggest flops of 2016. Pretty sure a third return to Wonderland is not on the upcoming to do list.
Here is a Breakdown on How the Following Films Did Financially and Among Critics
