Summer Movie Season 2016 (Month 3 Recap)
Hello Followers, we are at the end of month 3 of the Summer Movie Season. This month has been jammed packed with great movies but all good things must come to an end as we are starting to get close to the conclusion of SMS 2016. Let's take a look back at the July films and how they did in month 3.
The Legend Of Tarzan
The new iteration of the story of the man raised by Apes was met with lackluster praise and an even more lackluster box office haul. Despite a great cast and decent performance from Skarsgard, The Legend of Tarzan just couldn't stack up the previous adaptations that came before it.
The BFG
Steven Spielberg's magical adaptation of the beloved children's book by Roald Dahl was imaginative, visually stunning, and heartfelt to a big extant. Great performances from the cast and a pure essence of magic and wonder made The BFG an entertaining but not quite satisfying adventure.
The Secret Life Of Pets
Universal and Illumiations' latest creation may have just become the next big animated franchise. A stellar voice cast, hilarious high jinks, and a heartfelt story thrust The Secret Life of Pets in the conversation as one of the best animated films of the year.
Ghostbusters
The reboot of the paranormal comedy was met with less than anticipation and more with controversy, hatred, and the onslaught of venomous sexist and misogynistic "fans" However, the film ended up being a decent and surprisingly rich comedy that was fun and action packed. A nice way to prove the haters wrong.
Star Trek Beyond
The third installment of the Star Trek revival brought the franchise back to its roots. Balancing the new school action with the old school soul of the original series made this on of the most authentic Star Trek films of the past decade. A beautiful way to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Sci fi phenomenon.

Jason Bourne
The espionage thriller series saw the return of Matt Damon as the highly trained and deadly assassin. Filled with action, suspense, and a deeper dive into the mind of this trained weapon, Jason Bourne is a compelling an engaging action thriller that adds leverage and depth to the action franchise.
