Hey there followers!!! Long time, no see. I hope your 2019 has been great. Regardless, I have a feeling it's about to get a whole lot better. In just a few short days, the mayhem, excitement, and chaos of the summer movie season return for one of its most action-packed lineups yet. It seems that every year the bar is raised and this one is no exception. Today, we'll go over all of the big films heading our way this season and what each month promises to bring to one of the most awesome times of the year for movie fans.
The season waste no time getting into full swing with some heavy hitting flicks right out of the gate. On April 26th, Marvel Studios releases one of the year's most anticipated films in Avengers: Endgame. Afterward, the Pokemon series takes a new turn in the franchise's first live-action film, Detective Pikachu. On May 17th, Keanu Reeves returns as the hardcore assassin who goes up against the world in John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. Closing out the month will be two huge blockbusters. The first comes on Memorial Day with the live-action adaptation of one of the most beloved Disney films of all time in Aladdin. Then on May 31st, the greatest cinematic beast known to man collide in an epic battle for the ages in Godzilla King of the Monsters.
June is always where the Summer Movie Season starts to get more crazy. Things begin with the final installment of the pre-Disney owned X-Men film franchise in Dark Phoenix. On the animation side, Pixar and Illumination put out their animated flicks in The Secret Life of Pets 2 and Toy Story 4. For the action junkies, This month has got you covered with F. Gary Gray's Men in Black International starring Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth. In addition, Three generations of the bad mother-shut yo mouth come together in the 2019 rendition of Shaft.
To no one's surprise, July brings red, hot and boom. Things start off strong with the final installment of Marvel Phase 3 in Spider-Man Far From Home. On July 19th, one of the greatest animated films of all time celebrates his 25th Anniversary in the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of The Lion King. Closing out the month is the live-action adaptation of the popular children's show in Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
The final month of the season closes us out with some fun movies all around. August 2nd sees the return of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the first ever spin-off set in the Fast and Furious franchise in Hobbs and Shaw. The month concludes with Disney's live-action adaptation of the Artemis Fowl book series and the latest edition of the Angry Birds film series.
