I for one am really looking forward to this year's summer films and hope you are too. For those of you wondering what to look out for in this hectic time for cinema, here are breakdowns of the big films being released in May, June, and July.

May

Saying that the opening month of the summer movie season is loaded would be a huge understatment. There is so much going on in May at the movies it is enough to make your head spin. The films being released in May in my opnion is like having dessert before dinner. The biggest story heading into this month is the official comencing of Marvel Studios' Phase Two film line-up with the anticipated release of Iron Man 3. Robert Downey. Jr returns as the billionaire, genius, playboy, phalantropist in the third installment of the Iron Man story. After the enormous and epic display that was The Avengers, Marvel is wasting no time getting fans ready for the next installment which is due out for release in 2015. Then, the most beloved crew in science fiction return for their latest voyage in Star Trek Into Darkness. J.J. Abrams' sequel to one of 2009's most critically acclamied films find Captian Kirk, Uhura, Spock, and the rest of the USS Enterprise crew going head to head with a dangerous new villian played by Benedict Cumberbatch. On Memorial Day, Strap in and hang on for the best drivers on the planet shift into overdrive in Fast and Furious 6. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Dwayne Johnson return after a successful run 2 years ago with Fast Five. The trio finds themselves in europe to partake in a job which will put them in the path of new enemies and old faces. Other films will get their chance to shine as 20th Century Fox releases Epic headlined by an all star cast which includes Amanda Seyfried (Les Misarables), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), and Beyonce Knowles in addition to the father and son duo of Will and Jaden Smith reuniting for the sci-fi adventure After Earth. If you get dizzy thinking of all the awesoness that is packed into just month one, I understand. Just prepare yourself accordingly and be ready.

June

The Month of June always delivers some great fun for that is really where things get intresting. Headling the second month of the summer movie season is DC comics's response to Iron Man 3. Just a year after the conclusion of The Dark Knight Trilogy, The time has come for DC's golden child to take the spotlight. Henry Cavill stars as Clark Kent along side Amy Adams, and Laurence Fishburne in the story of one of america's most beloved comic heroes in Man of Steel. Just a week after, class is in session as Monstropolis' greatest team Mike and Sully head back to school in Pixar's latest film Monsters University. Veteran actors Jamie Foxx, Channing Tatum, and Brad Pitt then close out June in style with the action thrillers White House Down and World War Z. Such a strong line up of films round out month 2. There has never been a better time to go to the movies then during this time of year.

July

In July, We always can expect two things: fun and fireworks!!! The same can be said for the third month of the summer movie season. July brings a plethora of blockbusters that are sure to light up the box office. Kicking things off during 4th of July weekend is Disney's action western The Lone Ranger. Based on the hit 1950s tv series, Armie Hammer and Johnny Deep potray the duo of John Ried and Tonto to fight corruption and injustice. In additon, the hilarious little henchmen known as the Minions are back to assist in Gru's latest scheme in Dispicable Me 2, sequel to the acclamied animated feature. Just a week afterwards, things shift from the present to the future. Guillermo del Toro and Warner Bros bring about larger than life thrills in the form of large robots and collosal monsters in the sci-fi epic Pacific Rim. Later, Marvel gets back into the fray with the return of X-Men member Logan in The Wolverine which sees him in china battling an enemy that could very well end him. Fireworks are sure to fly as July will offer sizable helpings of laughs, thrills, and pure summer movie bliss.
