SMS Month 2 Recap (July 2022)


Hello followers. July comes to a close today wrapping up month 3 of the SMS of the summer movie season. Many movies have dropped this month so let's reminisce and put a bow on month 3 in our July recap.






Minions The Rise of Gru


The minions returned to wreak havoc on moviegoers in the continuation of the Despicable Me franchise. Filled with plenty of connections to the main series and hilarious hijinks, the yellow henchman once again prove they are still a force to be reckoned with.





Thor Love and Thunder

The god returned to the silver screen with valkyrie, his superpowered ex, Korg, and a pair of highly verbal goats. The MCU's latest entry delivered action, romance, and all the thunder in this insanity-driven summer romp. 





NOPE


The master of modern horror returned to give audiences a chilling experience with his signature blend of social commentary and poignant spectacle. Jordan Peele and his talented collection of performers delivered what it be described as the great American UFO film. As the years go by and the résumé continues to grow, Pugh continues to show why he is one of the go to directors of the horror genres next wave.




DC League of Superpets


With all the DC controversy that has transpired in the past few days, it’s crazy to think the most non-controversial DC thing out there right now is the movie about Superman and Batman‘s canine companions. All jokes aside, DC League of Superpets is a fun and harmless family friendly adventure with a fun voice cast and plenty of gags surrounding the DC universe. It may not reach the cinematic status of adjust as a Justice League or Wonder Woman movie, but it is still a great time nonetheless.
