Well followers, it's finally here!!! The 2011 Summer Movie Season  is officially on!!! Here is the reveiw of the season's tip off showcase: Fast Five.

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return behind the wheel
in the latest installment of the action franchise

The Story
About 2 years ago, covict Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) was sentenced to twenty five years to life in prison and it seemed like justice had finally caught up to him..or so he thought! With the help of his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) and his rival friend Brian o'Connor (Paul Walker). Dom once again escapes a life behind bars. Months pass and the trio is living in secret in Rio, Brazil. All seems well until a car jacking job goes bad and Brian and Dom are accused of the crime making the them the targets of the country's head dealer. Brian and Dom now must hatch one last scheme to insure their freedom and security. They inlist the help of their closest friends from back home consisting Brian's south beach buddies Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) and Tej Parker (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) as well as Dom's old running mate Han Lue (Sung Kang) and temptress Gisele Harabo (Gal Gadot). Their plan: retrieve the country's head drug dealer's multi million dollar fortune and disappear for good. But the plan gets thicker and  more riskier when the US hires the hard boiled DSS agent Luke Hobbs, (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), who has a perfect track record of always getting his man, to hunt them down and bring them to justice. With the dealer's mob and the elite agent and his team breathing down their necks, Can Dom and the others successfully get the money or will this be their last ride?

Being that Dwanye Johnson is mostly known
for his work in action films in the past,
his role in Fast Five shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
 Analysis
If you love action, gorgeous ladies, and fast cars , then you must know a Fast and The Furious film when you see one. The Fast and the Furious films have become one of the most successful film franchises in the past decade. Unfortunately, though the films do fairly well at the box office, it's where the films stand critcally that is one of the franchises main faults. Combined, the Fast and the Furious movies have averaged below fifty percent or lower with critics panning the films for lack of story, depth, and meaning. The same thankfully can not be said for the franchises latest installment, Fast Five. With the poor critical success of 2009's Fast & Furious, Director Justin Lin looked to come back strong in the next film. Glad to say, he succeded!!! Lin took the approch of more action but have a great story to back it up. The aspect worked well giving the audience a great action flick and a depth filled plotline. Because of this, Fast Five has now become the first finacially and critically successful installment in the franchise. Rotten Tomatoes awarded the film a score of 79%, the highest out of any of the previous four. The film was mainly praised for it's great summer film approch and the chemistry between the film's main cast. With a presumable sixth and seventh film in the works, Lin will have a solid rock to build on as he continues the high octane series.

Review
The Dodge Charger was heavily showcased
in the film especially in the intense climax.
And being that I like the car anyway,
this film just made me love it even more.

Being I had analyzed the whole summer movie season since mid-march, I had high expectations for the first film that would get it going. That is exactly what Fast Five did. When you really look at it, there really isn't a better film to get the summer movies started. What says summer more than beautiful females, bangin cars, and intense fast paced action. When I went to go see the movie, I had expectations that this would get me ready for what was to come in the coming months. I was not disappointed. Fast Five is everything I would want in a summer flick: Intense fast paced explosive action. Something  like that when it comes to movies is a real turn on. Justin Lin's overall set up of the film is one that fans of other film franchises only dream about. What other film series do you know reunites all the favorite characters from the past films and brings them together for the latest installment? Sometimes this idea dosen't always work out, but because of the amazing chemistry that the cast showed while filming, it was well worth the risk. The film takes off as all the other previous films before
<><>
If anything else, the brawl scene between
Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson
 should automatically
go down as Fight of The Year
it; then once the story take off, it creates an identity all it's own. The big time hiest approch of the film's plot is highly similar to other films such as Takers and Set it Off ; but with a more positive outcome. As I stated before, this seperates the movie from it's predecessors and makes it a unique experience. As far as action goes, it was just what I expected to see. The car scenes, especially the vault pulling sequence, were sights to behold. The big winner however had to be the intense fight scene between Dom and Agent Hobbs played by Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. Watching that fight was like watching a clash of the titans without thunder and lightning but with vicious punches and hammer throws. Overall, this was an awesome movie that was well done and well played. I look forward to seeing how the other summer movies do.
