Re-Porter Blog: Road to Episode IX Part 1





Hey Followers!!! The Force is in full effect as we are a little over 3 days away from the release of Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. The culmination of over 40 years of storytelling will bring a definitive end to the Skywalker Saga. To celebrate, today all the way till December 19th, we will be doing a special post to get you ready for the film. Let's get started by recapping all of the awesome things that have occurred in a galaxy far, far away. 












2019 started off strong for Star Wars with the second half of Lucasfilm Animation's Star Wars Resistance. The tail end of season 1 brought heavy emotion and intensity as the events of the show directly crossed into the time of Star Wars The Force Awakens. From Hux's speech, the destruction of Hosnian Prime, and the revelation that the Colossus was a spaceship really set the show up to be an incredible piece of Star Wars media.












 Star Wars Celebration in Chicago was the place to be in April as JJ Abrams and the cast showcased the official first trailer for Episode IX later revealed to be titled The Rise of Skywalker. Excitement hit a fever pitch with some iconic shots and the confirmation of the return of one iconic villain. If you wanna get a sense of what it was like to be in the room, just see for yourself below.
















The excitement kept building as Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau revealed the first details of their highly anticipated collaboration on the first-ever live-action Star Wars series. The panel included the cast and details on the story while still relatively keeping things under wraps. More on this later in the post.
















It's been a good while since Star Wars fans had an engaging single-player campaign. Battlefront 2 offered thrills but never on a scale that truly mattered. Respawn Entertainment changed that with the reveal of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, a single-player story, set half a decade after the events of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, following the escapades of Jedi purge survivor Cal Kestis. Though details on the game were vague at the time, fans were nonetheless excited about jumping into this brand new Star Wars story and being able to use the force. It is no secret that Star Wars The Clone Wars is one of the most beloved properties in the entire Star Wars franchise. So it shouldn't be a surprise that the first look at the 7th season of Dave Filoni and George Lucas's collaboration but excitement and tears to all the fans in the room at Star Wars celebration. Concluding a television Journey that started back in 2008, Maloney & Company plan to send the series off on a high note in the best way possible in 2020. D23 Expo brought Star Wars fans their first look at the first-ever live-action Star Wars series. The gritty aesthetic, the dark tone, and the western influence made it clear that this adventure was one to not miss.















After so much uncertainty and anxiousness, President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the news that every Star Wars fan has wanted to hear: OBI-WAN IS BACK!!!!! Much to the excitement of everyone around the world, Kennedy confirmed that Ewan McGregor would return in a new series on Disney + focusing on Obi-Wan Kenobi's time in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The series is the third one announced and will join The Mandalorian and the upcoming series featuring Rogue One characters Cassian Andor and K-2SO!!!





















Season 2 of Star Wars Resistance took of off-planet and into a galaxy run by the first order. Kaz and company take on new enemies and old friends as the fight for freedom rages on.

















The final trailer for Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker debuted on Monday Night Football and set fandom hype ablaze. From Iconic Heroes, breathtaking imagery, and an incredible shot featuring almost every ship featured in a Star Wars film, the final installment of the Skywalker Saga set things in motion the really put a spectacular caper on the 40-year long series.
















What more can be said about a series that has taken the world by storm? Debuting with Disney +, The Mandalorian captivated fans from the word go to become the breakout television hit of the year.

After years of waiting, Respawn Entertainment delivered not only one of the best games since he EA's acquisition of Star Wars. But also one of the most engaging Star Wars stories in the new Canon. Memorable characters, awesome world-building, and high octane combat made this a must-play for fans.

For those who want to get a little bit closer to the intensity and visceral excitement of the Star Wars Galaxy, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance puts you in the middle of an epic conflict between the first order and the resistance in one of the most immersive and technologically advanced attractions ever put into a Disney park.
